Where to find CSP Tutorials
Contact Graphixly @
Hello! My name is Liz Staley and I’m a long-time user of Clip Studio Paint (I started using the program back when it was known as Manga Studio 4!). I was a beta-tester on the Manga Studio 5 program and for Clip Studio Paint, and I have written three books and several video courses about the program. Many of you probably know my name from those books, in fact. I write weekly posts on Graphixly.com and on CSP Tips, so be sure to come back every week to learn more Clip Studio Tips and Tricks from me!
When I first started using Clip Studio, there wasn’t a lot of tutorials or information out there for how to use the software. However, as technology has changed and time has gone on, there are now a plethora of ways to find information on how to use software and how to create better art.
In this article we will talk about where to find the best Clip Studio Paint tutorials.
Let’s learn some new skills!
Graphixly Blog
My first recommendation is the Graphixly blog! Not only can you find all of my 260+ articles here, but there are also tons of other posts about Clip Studio Paint and other related topics. At the time of writing this there was recently a webinar about creating retro inspired anime characters that I’m honestly going to try and make time to watch because it seems like it’s right up my alley!
Graphixly is also a partner with Celsys to provide Clip Studio Paint in North and South America and Europe, so you can purchase software licenses, add-ons like brush packs, and courses that teach skills like animation, comic creation, and character design. It’s kinda like a one stop shop for all things Clip Studio!

Clip Studio Tips
If you’d rather stay in the “Celsys network” for your tutorials, you can’t find a better resource than Clip Studio Tips! You can even get to Tips from the Clip Studio app, which is really convenient.
Once you open the Clip Studio app, scroll down until you see the newest Tips. Then you can click on the “Tips” link on the right hand side to go to the main Tips page.
Not only are the official Clip Studio tutorials here, but there are also thousands of articles written by Clip Studio users of all styles and skill levels teaching everything from how to draw cute cats to coloring your Webtoon quickly and creating special effects.
If you come across a tutorial that you want to come back to later, you can add it to your favorites by clicking the star icon at the bottom of the post. This will add it to the “Your Favorites” tab in your free Celsys account. Make sure you’re logged in before you click the star icon!

YouTube
If you’d rather watch a video than read a blog post, the best place to turn for tutorials - of course! - is YouTube. Both Clip Studio Paint and Graphixly have official YouTube channels (CLIPSTUDIOPAINTchannel and Graphixly, respectively) where tutorials and webinars are uploaded, but thousands of CSP users of all skill and experience levels are sharing their knowledge for free as well. Most of the time when I’m looking for advice on how to do something, I find myself first on CS Tips and then on YouTube if Tips didn’t have what I’m looking for!
Hopefully this one surprises a few of you! Did you know that you can find tutorials on Pinterest? I actually usually stumble on art tutorials that I want to try while searching for something entirely different on the visual search engine, to be honest. Not only can you watch short videos directly on Pinterest, but lots of times there are links to YouTube, blogs, or Clip Studio Tips that have been pinned to the site so you can click on them and then go to the linked site to get more information.
The only thing that I don’t really like about Pinterest is that there are quite a lot of ads on the feed and sometimes they make it hard for me to find what I’m looking for. They tend to draw my eye away from the search results because they’re different, so I find them a bit hard to tune out. But since I like the site so much for being able to find tons of images and create inspiration boards, it’s something that I deal with.
Message Boards
If you’re looking for a community type atmosphere where you can get inspiration, see what others are doing, and get help with your questions, then I would suggest message boards! Specifically, Clip Studio Ask and the r/ClipStudio sub on Reddit.
You can access Clip Studio Ask through your free Clip Studio account at the link below.
https://ask.clip-studio.com/en-us
Clip Studio Ask has boards for Software questions, seeking advice, trouble shooting, and other creativity questions, so make sure you look at the descriptions for each category and post your message in the appropriate board.
On the ClipStudio subreddit you can see what other users have created, get tips, and also ask questions about using Clip Studio or get help with troubleshooting issues. At the time of writing there are over 100k members of the Clip Studio subreddit! So if you’re already a fan of Reddit, why not join so you can also learn about Clip Studio at the same time.
Conclusion
Whether you prefer reading along with a blog post, watching a short video, browsing by images, or being able to ask questions for your individual needs, there’s tons of ways you can find tutorial and tips for how to use Clip Studio! The trick is to find the method that works for you. Happy learning!
