How did you become an artist?
Hello, and thank you for having me! My name is Rodney Amirebrahimi, but I’m mostly known online as THEGAMEWORLD. Since I can remember, I’ve always had a pencil in my hand, drawing everything I saw, from dinosaurs to TMNT. As a shy kid, creating art was my way of communicating with people and it still is! About 15 years ago, I decided to become a full-time artist, moved away from traditional art, and began my journey as a digital painter.
Where do you get inspiration?
From so many places, doom scrolling Instagram, playing video games, or even a random photo on social media that sparks an idea. Sometimes, a single line of dialogue in a movie will inspire an entire piece.
I grew up surrounded by pop culture, so first and foremost, I see myself as a fan. I love seeing other people’s creations, and it keeps me inspired and motivated to improve my own work.
What’s your hardware setup?
Right now, I’m using a gaming laptop ASUS TUF Dash 15, and my drawing tablet is a Huion Kamvas Pro 16.
What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?
Over the years, I’ve used many different softwares, and I think Clip Studio Paint currently has the best of all of them, an all in one package that’s surprisingly lightweight and smooth to work with. Plus, the Asset Store is amazing!
How long does it take you to make a single illustration?
It depends on many factors, especially the art style, but for my realistic pieces, it can easily take over 50 hours. A big reason is that I enjoy painting tiny details that most people might never notice!
When you zoom in, you’ll see how each brushstroke and line blend together, creating swirls and flow throughout the piece while maintaining hyper realistic quality.
How has Clip Studio Paint improved your workflow?
In terms of both quality and speed, it has vastly improved my workflow. The number of tools it gives artists, like 3D assets, helps a lot and makes creating smoother and more fun.
Would you like to promote some recent project?
I’m currently working on some unannounced original projects (hopefully I can reveal them soon, fingers crossed).
In the meantime, most of my works are available as prints, so if you’d like to support me and my art, that’s the best way right now.
Where can we follow your work?
