How did you become an artist?

When I was a child, I was always with pencils and crayons in my hand. I was perpetually sketching at school instead of listening to lessons. My love for anime and manga pushed me to imitate my favorite mangaka. As a young man, I had made the decision to not pursue a life as an artist, choosing a career that was more stable. However, this path was not made for me so I decided to pursue what I always loved to do: drawing. During my studies I tried numerous arts styles but I decided to go back to the “anime/manga” style I loved. To sum up, I had always made things as a child, and I just never stopped.

Where do you get inspiration?

My inspiration comes from various anime/manga, and JRPG I watched, read and played since I was a child. Akira Toriyama, Dragon Ball Saga's creator and Chrono trigger's character designer is one of my favorite artists, he is one of the main reasons I started drawing. Not only did he make one of the most popular manga in the world, but he also is a really good artist, he has succeeded in creating a style everyone can recognize.

What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?

What I like best about Clip Studio Paint is that it is really artists-friendly. I did not have any trouble understanding how to use it. My favorite brushes are the opaque watercolor brush and the mapping pen, they give a really nice feel and are really easy to use.

How long does it take you to make a single illustration?

It can take from 2-40 hours depending on if I am satisfied with my drawing or not. Otherwise, I trash it and begin a new one. It also depends on the complexity of the illustration, and if I have or not any idea about what and how I am going to draw.

Would you consider Clip Studio Paint an industry tool?

Sure, I saw a lot of professional artists use it in the game industry. It is a must have.
