How did you become an artist?
I have loved drawing since I was a child, but I never attended art school. For a long time, drawing was simply a hobby that I enjoyed in my free time.
However, after becoming a mother, I began noticing so many funny, sweet, and unique moments in my child’s everyday life. I felt that these little moments were too precious not to capture, so I started drawing them.
I am a self-taught artist, and learning on my own has been both challenging and exciting. Over time, I developed an illustration style that feels very close to children—cute, playful, and warm. Because of this, I feel that children’s book projects are a natural fit for me.
Where do you get inspiration?
I usually find inspiration in my everyday life with my child. The little things we do together, her funny expressions, and the unexpected moments we share often give me ideas for my illustrations. I love observing these small moments and turning them into something warm and playful through my art.
I also find inspiration in my surroundings and the little things I notice in everyday life. Sometimes, even a simple moment, a place, or something I see while going about my day can spark an idea for an illustration.
What’s your hardware setup?
My main setup is a PC paired with a pen display, which I use for most of my illustrations. I also use an iPad when I’m working outside or want to draw on the go.
What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?
Clip Studio Paint can take a little time to get used to, and I think that was the case for me too, haha. But as I became more familiar with it, I started to appreciate its many strengths.
One of my favorite things is the huge variety of beautiful brushes that can be downloaded for free. I also really like its clean and comfortable interface, which makes it easy on the eyes when I’m working for long periods of time. And the unlimited number of layers is incredibly helpful for my workflow, especially when I’m working on detailed illustrations.
How long does it take you to make a single illustration?
It usually takes me around 2–3 days to complete a single illustration, depending on the level of detail and complexity. The simpler the illustration, the faster I can finish it, while more detailed pieces naturally take more time.
How has Clip Studio Paint improved your workflow?
Clip Studio Paint has made my workflow more flexible and convenient. The wide variety of brushes allows me to experiment with different textures and techniques without having to create everything from scratch. The layer system is also very helpful, especially when I need to make changes or adjustments without affecting the rest of the illustration.
Overall, it gives me more freedom to experiment and makes the process of creating illustrations feel smoother and more enjoyable.
