How did you become an artist?

I have always drawn since I was little, but I am clear that since I was 11 years old I wanted to draw as a regular part of my life. I discovered it thanks to Adventure Time. I wanted to create scenarios with the characters that were not happening at that time in the series, the motivation to materialize what I imagined was my biggest driving force.

Where do you get inspiration?

Artistically, my main references are Loish and GDBee, a great inspiration for what I want to generate on a canvas. I always see their work. Also a great source of inspiration are series, movies, songs, etc. what I consume, because I love recreating what I already like.

I usually save references on Instagram and Pinterest, mainly from random photographers and models that appear in the home and discover sections. Once you interact with some jobs, more of the same type are then recommended to you.

What’s your hardware setup?

I draw on a Xencelabs Medium tablet, with a GIGABYTE G27F 27'' main monitor and an Nvidia MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card.

What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?

I love the versatility with which I can work with colors. Color History, different tools for mixing colors, the Gradient Map, the brush color variation and along with the latter is the wide variety of ways in which the brushes can be configured, with a mix of the color closest to the pigment now.

I also love being able to work on various canvases in a single file, it can be used for more things than just comics! It's great.

And I always have the Timelapse of my creation within reach.

How long does it take you to make a single illustration?

This depends on various factors as in any case, but mainly how much the piece inspires me. Less inspiration equals more time, as it is difficult for me to work on it and can take me up to more than a month between intervals. But with an illustration where I feel motivated, and if I have time on my side, I can finish a complete illustration in a week or less.

How has Clip Studio Paint improved your workflow?

Visually I feel like I have everything organized and at my disposal. It's great that it's so customizable. Its tools for color have greatly facilitated how I can see, mix, combine and place colors, something so important to me since I would say that I mainly paint more than draw as such.

Would you like to promote some recent project?

I recently started implementing English subtitles to my YouTube videos, so they can be accessible to non-Spanish speaking audiences!
