How did you become an artist?

When I was a kid, I used to watch a lot of Disney movies. I loved their cartoon style, so I practiced drawing many Disney princesses in my sketchbook. One day, I saw Sailor Moon on television, and its art style immediately caught my eye. From that moment, I started searching for anime films and shows on my parents' computer. I watched a lot of cute anime shows, and that’s how I became interested in anime—it eventually became a major inspiration for me to create my own cute anime-style art. I searched for anime drawing tutorials on YouTube and began teaching myself how to draw in that style. My first anime artwork wasn’t perfect, but I didn’t give up because being able to draw anime with my own hands made me happy and gave me something to be proud of. As a child, I didn’t have any friends, so creating art truly helped me heal and brought me joy. Over time, drawing became my favorite hobby, and after discovering many talented artists on Instagram, I decided I wanted to become an artist too.

Where do you get inspiration?

I used to focus on traditional art, but I’ve recently switched to digital art so I can create my own merch. One of my biggest inspirations is Yoaihime—her adorable art has always brought me joy and motivated me to improve, with the hope of developing my own cute style someday. Another artist who inspires me is Matchaart on Twitter; I love her coloring style and dream of creating digital masterpieces like hers. Overall, I draw inspiration from many artists on Instagram and Twitter who specialize in cute art styles.

What’s your hardware setup?

I mostly use an iPad Air to create my illustrations, but sometimes I use an XP-Pen Drawing Tablet Pro to draw digital art on my laptop.

What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?

I’ve tried many drawing programs, but I’ve found that Clip Studio Paint works best for me because of its wide range of features. You can easily search for materials, including 3D models, through the Clip Studio Assets library. One of its standout features is the exceptional brush engine, which offers highly customizable brushes that feel natural— perfect for detailed linework and expressive inking. It also supports frame-by-frame 2D animation, making it great for creating short animated sequences and storyboards.

How long does it take you to make a single illustration?

I used to finish a single detailed illustration in around 3 days, but now I need at least 1 week due of my busy schedule.

How has Clip Studio Paint improved your workflow?

Clip Studio Paint has a border effect feature that saves me time when doing line art—I don’t need to draw it manually. The lasso tool is also very useful for filling or erasing colors quickly. I enjoy using accessories like pearls and chains from the material library, as they save time and eliminate the need to draw each detail individually.
