How did you become an artist?
I have loved drawing for as long as I can remember. I graduated as a graphic designer thinking that drawings would not generate much income especially in my country, Colombia. I was wrong, when I started posting some of my drawings on social media, I saw that there is an interested audience, which helped me make the decision to become an illustrator.
Where do you get inspiration?
My biggest inspiration since I was a kid has been video games and comics, especially badass girls like Lara Croft and Poison Ivy. I had a lot of fun trying to bring my favorite characters to life through my drawings. Creating new stories, designing new outfits, new hairstyles, etc.
What’s your hardware setup?
Nothing too fancy, a HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15.6" with 16gb of RAM and a Huion Kamvas 20.
What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?
I genuinely love how easy it feels to use. It's intuitive and allows you to customize your workspace to your liking. The sheer amount of assets (Materials, Brushes, 3D Objects) created by other artists is amazing.
Clip Studio Paint feels like a tool created by artists for artists.
How long does it take you to make a single illustration?
It depends a lot on the elements that each illustration has (The complexity of the character and the background). It can be from 8 hours to 4 days.
How has Clip Studio Paint improved your workflow?
I can put everything I need in my workspace, which saves me a lot of time looking for tools, I can paint much faster with brushes that allow me to apply color and blend by just changing the pressure of my pen. Saving timelapses quickly and easily is the icing on the cake.
